During this trying times and there's not a single day (probably even minute)goes without the topic Covid-19 is spoken, debated, pondered or contemplated on. Nevertheless, life has to go on. The dead are remembered. The alive soldier on. Those who lay their troubles to divine providence, find some solace.
To some of us reading gives some much sought after comfort. That brings me to this next book that I have just read. Ironically, it somehow relates to our current pandemic. Not in exact words per se. But in regards to civilization. It compares the highly developed civilization during the Islamic golden period with other parts of the world of the same era. It's a norm that each civilization peaks only to see its end not much later.
Have our civilization reached its zenith? Or do we have much more to learn and achieve? Or probably we have lost ourselves in our quest for excellence.
Points to learn:
- every civilization has its peak..and its downfall
