The Ickabog - JK Rowling

Rings a bell? Yes..the author is none other than the famous writer of the Harry Potter series.

The Ickabog is actually a children's story written much earlier (but kept in the attic for a long, long time) by JK Rowling as a bedtime story for her children. Interestingly, she had been releasing chapters weekly on the web for free! All you got to do is log on and read ..and wait anxiously for the next chapter the next day.

Well..it has got to its end.

Love the way it has been written. Beautifully and amusingly laced with sarcasm. Politicians should be read it. Who knows..you'll be the next that the Ickabog comes after.

Reader's Digest July 2020

The Sound of Music. For those who have seen or at least heard of this movie..you would be able to relate to its mesmerizing effect as your thoughts are transported to another world, another time.

I still remember when the whole family gathered to watch the much talked-about movie. It was engrossing and weird at the same time. Weird because it was a musical movie (..those days we didn't have much of that kind).

Reader's Digest

Politics aside..lets talk about the man on the center page. He's been associated with many things but it's his reading passion that allures the Malaysian people. At 95 going on to 96, he's still as sharp as ever. Most of us would have opted for a laid-back kind of life. But not him.

Dr Mahathir (Dr M) or Tun M as he is passionately known to Malaysians is a hard act to follow. His self-discipline and determination seems inexhaustible. If there is one single thing that we could emulate Tun M..it's reading!

So wait no more, pick up that favourite book of yours..and hit the pages!

Common Clinical Problems in Primary Care: A Quick Guide

Obviously it's a medical book. Being a general practitioner, we need to update our knowledge in this fast-paced, evolving field of medicine. On the contrary of being a specialist in a certain area, a GP (that's what we are called), must have in depth knowledge in everything..a generalist so to speak. No doubt that's why to be a good doctor you need to hunger for knowledge (..if not thirst😊)

Saham dan Pelaburan - Haji Azlan Khalili Haji Shamsuddin

Balik kampung lepas PKP. Nikmat mana yang kamu dustakan?

Menginap di rumah pusaka (tempat adik-beradik semua berkumpul). Kebetulan ada satu rak disiapkan sebagai "mini library" (idea Bang Long). Anyways, saya seperti biasa pantang tengok buku tersusun. Mata mula scan lalu ternampak satu buku yang menarik tajuknya. "Saham dan Pelaburan". Maklumlah, lepas COVID-19, ekonomi pulak down. Semua nak mencari peluang sampingan.
