Tunku & Serangan Jepun (Di Kelantan) - A. Ghani Abdullah

An historical write-up in short essays and poems. Good to get a glimpse on this particular angle of Malaysian history. The author is well known for other books such as Puteri Lembah Dusun Damai and Peristiwa Lahad Datu dan Malay Regiment and Bangau Oh Bangau Antologi Puisi 3 Sekawan. Makes a good light read over a cup of coffee. Try it!

Points to learn :

  • history is an integral part of us..in fact your life is an history to be retold.
  • a man who never learns from history, is an unfortunate person

Al-Mustasfa - Imam Al-Ghazali

Imam Al-Ghazali is known for his magnum opus, Ihya Ulumuddin, the revival of religious sciences. His writings deals in tassawuf and kalam. However, he is also known to have written on the methods of Islamic jurisprudence. One of the major writing is the Al-Mustasfa, supposedly written short before his demise. Understandably, most of these writings are Arabic text. Thus, for the common readers, the quality of translation is of utmost value.

In this Malay translated copy, the effort is somehow hampered by the need to have a deep understanding of the Islamic jurisprudence and the arabic language. I would strongly advise the interested readers to read the English translation for a better understanding.

Points to learn :

  • Islam jurisprudence is an exact science
