Written by a towering figure in the Malaysian political scene (literally speaking as well). Shares his days (30 day to be exact) in the Kajang prison. Gives a glimpse of life inside prison, though not everything. The writer was already a member of Parliment when he was sentenced to prison. Nevertheless, it's an enjoyable read.

A surprisingly simple book BUT with tremendous IMPACT! Can be read in one go! Gives iron-clad motivations which everyone can relate to. A must-read especially for those who need a little nudge in life.

The author attempts to explain the ways to being khushoo (the heart stands before Allah in humility) during salaah (prayer). A number of pointers are given which In shaa Allah will benefit those facing problems (wandering minds) during salaah.

• khushoo begins even before salaah
• our daily lifes and beliefs affects khushoo
• khushoo in salaah will bring sweetness and joy in one's life

Islamic Beliefs - A Brief Introduction to 'Aqidah of Ahl as-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah by 'Abdullah al-'Athari

A very clearly written book on aqidah. Highly recommended for those keen on building the foundation of Islamic beliefs. As with the other International Islamic Publishing House (IIPH) books, it's made of good quality paper (pleasant to touch) bound by hard cover.

Points to learn:

• aqidah is the foundation of Islam
• belief in the seen and unseen
• aqidah must be complete..NEVER partial

Hipster Hartanah - Harith Faisal

A book on realestate. Simply written for the lay person interspersed with humour. A very light read (you can finish reading while servicing your car). Useful to initiate passion for realestate investment coz only discusses basic know-hows. For those looking for more in depth information, you definitely need to head to the bookstore!

Points to learn:

• invest early
• never too late to invest
• realestate investment is NEVER to be missed

An engaging narrative of Tun's life and his amazing rise in the Malaysian political scene. History is retold through his journey, ups and downs and challenges. Should be read but not much for the history. More so to dissect the mind of a kingmaker.

• inculcate love for reading

Monolog kecil tahun-tahun gelora

A very engrossing read. One person's thought expressions. Laid out in a thought-provoking manner (though,occasinally I personally differ in view) with numerous "gems" as cross reference. None other than our 12th National Laureate winner, Baharuddin Zainal, better known as Baha Zain.

Points to learn:

• belief and principles builds character
• views are meant to differ, that's the facet of life
• passion gives life
